Preston North End have sent Fulham an official bid for 19-year-old Swedish forward Jonah Kusi Asare.

Reports coming out of Fulham suggest that the Cottagers would be willing to let the frontman leave on loan. However, they are not keen on allowing him to leave on a permanent deal, with the club seeing potential for the youngster to feature for them in the future.

Kusi Asare only joined Fulham permanently in this window, but the Swede has been in London for the past year. He initially joined the Cottagers on loan from Bundesliga outfit Bayern Munich last summer, with Fulham having an option to buy.

During his year at Fulham, the 19-year-old made seven appearances for the club but failed to find the back of the net.

Why Would Kusi Asare Be a Good Signing for Preston?

Preston don't have the most depth in the forward positions, making Kusi Asare a good option for the Lilywhites as they prepare for another challenging Championship season.

It's understandable why Preston would push for a permanent deal, with their star forward Jusef Erabi being on loan from Hamburg for the season.

With Erabi expected to return to Hamburg at the end of the campaign, Preston will be keen to avoid finding themselves in a position where two of their attacking options could leave at the end of the season.

Kusi Asare could therefore give Preston a young forward to develop while also providing some much-needed depth in attack.
