Raith Rovers sign George Oakley and three confirmed to leave

Raith Rovers' Championship campaign for 2025/26 ended on Friday night in dramatic circumstances, their 3-2 win over Ross County officially relegated the Staggies to League One. And whilst their season came to an end plans for 2026/27 have already begun.

On Monday, the club announced the signing of George Oakley from Ayr United on a two-year-contact.

The 30-year-old missed most of the season for the Honest Men through injury but Dougie Imrie has made the striker his first official summer signing, having previously worked together at Greenock Morton. Oakley scored 19 goals in 43 appearances for the Ton' under Imrie.

Rovers are also expected to announce the signing of East Kilbride attacker John Robertson. The 24-year-old was named League Two's PFA Scotland's Player of the Year on Sunday and confirmed that he had signed a pre-contract with the Fife club and will be stepping up to the Championship next season.

Whilst transfer incomings are in the process, so to are the outgoings as Imrie confirmed that he will be talking to the 14 out-of-contract players on Monday to discuss their future at the club.

Whilst no confirmation has come from the club, three players have announced that they are leaving Stark's Park via their social media platforms.

Ross Matthews, who played for the club over 250 times throughout an 11 year spell at the club is currently the longest surviving player to confirm that he is leaving Stark's Park.

Josh Mullin and Jack Hamilton, both spent three seasons at the club, are also leaving the club.

Amongst the rest of the out-of-contract players whose futures are up in the air include Lewis Vaughan, Shaun Byrne, Lewis Stevenson, Callum Fordyce and Jordan Doherty.
