Rayan Cherki Interested In Borussia Dortmund Project

Potentially known as one of the best Football Manager wonderkids, Olympique Lyon’s Rayan Cherki is said to be interested in joining German side Borussia Dortmund as he is a fan of what the future of the club entails.

Tier one Football Park ranked source Florian Plettenberg informs that Cherki, as the player has agreed to the move and it is now down to both clubs to come to an agreement over the fee. The move is a complicated one as Borussia Dortmund might need to sell more players in order to make the deal feasible.

Fabrizio Romano, another tier one rated source has added more information on this deal, saying that Lyon are insistent on including a sell-on clause. This is a smart move from the French club as Cherki is a player that most people believe to have a high ceiling and the world at his feet if he sets his mind to it.

Lyon had an extremely poor start to the season last year, even spending time in dead bottom for a period of time. They pulled it together in the end with help from the likes of Cherki, Alexandre Lacazette and Anthony Lopes, finishing off the campaign in 6th place.

Cherki achieved 39 appearances across Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France and reached 3 goals and provided 9 assists to his teammates. He had some excellent average per 90 minutes stats with 5.55 shot creating actions, 7.23 progressive passes, 4.87 progressive carries and probably the most impressive stat of 4.24 successful take-ons, making him in the 99 percentile in comparison to all the other attacking midfielders/wingers in Europe’s top five leagues.

With rumours of Karim Adeyemi off to Chelsea and Jadon Sancho returning back to Manchester United after his short loan spell, Rayan Cherki would be an ideal replacement on the wing for The Black and Yellow.
