Romelu Lukaku Willing To Take Pay Cut To Join Napoli

Belgium’s all time top goalscorer Romelu Lukaku is trying his very best to stay in the Serie A with his attention turned towards signing a deal with 2022/23 winners Napoli.

Football Park tier three rated source Ben Jacobs has reported that Lukaku is said to have agreed to take a significant pay cut in order to be eligible to play for Napoli. The deal is expected to valid for three years, but it is down to his current club Chelsea to agree with Napoli over the sum of the transfer. He spent all of last season in the Serie A on loan at capital based club Roma.

Lukaku might not have had the best Euro 2024 campaign after finishing with a total of zero goals, unfortunate as he did score three, but they were all eventually disallowed. However, Lukaku is always reliable on in the Serie A as he has racked up an impressive goal tally with Roma and Inter Milan over his years in the league.

He has made 129 appearances domestically in the Serie A, scoring 70 times and providing 21 assists to various different teammates. Lukaku has proven that he is the type of player that suits the Serie A over the Premier League and he should continue to perform with this move to Napoli.

Across all competitions last season, Lukaku finished the year with 21 goals and 4 assists. In the UEFA Europa League he contributed 7 goals from 13 games and was a key part of Roma’s Semi-Final run.

Napoli will pick up a great player in Lukaku and fans should appreciate the fact that he could take his services to the Saudi Pro League for the money that they would offer, but instead Romelu is willing to do whatever it takes to play for the Gli Azzurri.
