Schalke Push to Finalize Late Loan Deal for Wolves Forward Hee-chan Hwang

Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph reports that Schalke have been working to finalize the loan agreement in time for the German transfer deadline.

Schalke are closing in on the signing of Wolves striker Heechan Hwang.

It’s understood the Bundesliga club have been trying to finalise a loan deal in time for their deadline.

Post-Deadline Processing Hurdle

While the German transfer window officially closed at 7:00 PM BST, Schalke can still process and register the deal if they submit proof to the Deutsche Fußball Liga (DFL) that the transfer documentation was substantially completed before the cutoff.

German Return for South Korean International Hwang, 30, brings extensive European experience having previously played in Germany for Hamburger SV and RB Leipzig prior to joining Wolves in 2021.

Across his time at Molineux, the South Korean international has recorded 22 goals and 10 assists in 119 appearances across all competitions. Internationally, Hwang has earned 82 caps and scored 17 goals for the South Korea national team.

Loan Agreement: Schalke and Wolves have structured a loan deal to take Hwang back to Germany for the season.

DFL Approval Needed: Schalke are submitting paperwork to prove the deal was virtually complete before the 7pm deadline.

Attacking Reinforcement: Schalke view Hwang as a key versatile forward capable of operating across the frontline.

Confirmation of the transfer depends on the DFL verifying and approving the post-deadline paperwork.
