Football Park Scotland can reveal that Rory Wilson looks to be set for a move to Bundesliga club Hoffenheim, who currently sit 3rd in Bundesliga. Wilson has long impressed in the Aston Villa youth academy, including scoring a hat trick in the UEFA Youth League this season.
His development was stunted by a long-term injury, but after returning, the 20-year-old hasn’t slowed down. Wilson has attracted interest from Denmark, The Netherlands, Austria, and other leagues, but it seems that Hoffenheim have won the race for the young attacker’s signature.
There is an option to buy included in the loan deal, set at around €7m to make the deal permanent if he impresses. Wilson joined Aston Villa back in July of 2022 for a reported fee of around £350,000. It was said that Steven Gerrard was a big factor in the move, as he was Aston Villa manager at the time of the move.
Wilson won't be guarenteed a starting spot and will have to fight for game time with players like Andrej Kramaric, which will be invaluable experience for Rory in developing his game.
