Sheffield United set to sign Chiedozie Ogbene On Loan From Ipswich

Championship side Sheffield United appear set to take Ipswich winger Chiedozie Ogbene on loan, just months after his £8m move from Luton in August 2024.

The 28-year-old Irish winger has featured for 158 minutes across three appearances for Ipswich this season, but boss Kieran McKenna is happy for Ogbene to move out on loan.

Struggling Blades Need Quick Change

Ogbene is set to join a Sheffield United side struggling to find their footing this season. The Blades were tipped to challenge for promotion, but after four matches, they sit at the bottom of the Championship table, having lost all four opening games.

Boss Ruben Selles will hope that new additions like Ogbene can strengthen the squad and help kickstart their campaign after the international break.

With United struggling going forward, there is hope that Ogbene can strengthen their attacking options. The Irish international brings both Premier League and international experience to a side in dire need of improvement in the final third. Reportedly, Leicester City and Wrexham were also interested, but Sheffield United appears to be his chosen destination.
