Kalvin Phillips has emerged as yet another January transfer Deadline Day signing for Sheffield United, as per Sky Sports.
The 30-year-old has been given just six starts in all competitions by Pep Guardiola at Manchester City since joining in 2022, and with the Blades looking to sign him on loan it could give Phillips a chance to find that quality he has been lacking in recent seasons.
With the large wages he is on at City, his parent club would still be paying a majority of his wage bill, as United fans will be confident that this signing could help propel Chris Wilder's side into playoff contention.

England men's senior player of the year in 2021, Phillips could offer the Blades a serious midfield option, with Wilder currently lacking that quality holding, defensive midfielder.
Sheffield United currently sit in 17th place in the EFL Championship, and just seven points above the relegation zone. Although their attacking output is solid, with their 40 goals competing with teams in the top half, their 42 conceded is amongst the worst in the division - with only four sides holding a worse defensive record.
The Blades target joined Man City back almost four years ago now for £42 million, but he failed to make his mark and repeat his personal success that he had at Leeds - highlighted by their promotion to the Premier League in 2020.
In the two seasons prior to this one, Phillips had loan moves to two then first tier clubs in West Ham United and Ipswich Town, but he failed to make an impact onto either of them, making just 32 appearances combined and scoring one goal.
