It is being reported that Sheffield Wednesday have rejected bids from both Sheffield United and Blackburn Rovers for 20-year-old Bailey Cadamarteri, as per the Star. Link
With immense controversy surrounding the club, the Owls may face further scrutiny as they may be forced to sell one of their brightest talents.
Cadamarteri is a product of the Sheffield Wednesday academy and has made 31 appearances for the Owls. The player spent the 2024/25 season on loan at League One outlet Lincoln City, netting 8 times. After making 4 appearances across the England U19 and U20 teams, Cadamarteri switched allegiance to Jamaica, and has been called up to represent the Reggae Boyz in their upcoming World Cup Qualifiers.

After crashing out of the play-off final in dramatic fashion last season by losing to Sunderland at Wembley, Sheffield United are looking to push even further this season. The Blades appointed Spaniard Ruben Selles in the summer following the sacking of Chris Wilder, and with the season beginning in a slow manner, Sheffield United currently sit bottom of the Championship.

The transfer window has shown promise for the Blades, but there's still a need for added firepower up front, and the signing of Cadamarteri could provide exactly that. Meanwhile, Blackburn Rovers, who narrowly missed the play-offs last season, are determined to go one better this time. Having already secured striker Andri Guðjohnsen, son of former Barcelona and Chelsea star Eidur Guðjohnsen, they remain keen to strengthen their attacking options for the long Championship campaign.

Some may call it a miracle that the Owls have already picked up a point this season. Plagued by financial turmoil, injuries, and the loss of key players, their outlook remains uncertain. Losing a promising youth talent like Bailey Cadamarteri would be another major setback, but with finances dictating their decisions, the Owls may have little choice as they look to balance the books.
