Today St Johnstone announced that Head Coach, Simo Valakari, has signed a new contract which will keep him at the club until 2029.
Valakari joined the Saints in October 2024 and after relegation from the Scottish Premiership last season, his side now sit a top the Scottish Championship. The Perthshire side are 5 points ahead of their nearest challenger and look to be in prime position to return straight back to Scotland's top flight.

In a statement released by St Johnstone Valakri stated,
"This was an easy decision for me.
“Since day one I have been honoured to be head coach of this fantastic club, in this wonderful city and in a beautiful community that has made me feel so welcome.
“This new contract does not change our process. We work hard every single day and the maximum effort will continue. "
Valakri's new deal and its length act as a strong show of faith from the Board. Here's what Owner Adam Webb had to say in a statement to St Johnstone's Website,
“Since arriving in Perth, Simo has played a key role in driving standards on and off the pitch, embedding a clear footballing identity and demonstrating a strong commitment to our family club.
“This new contract is not just a reward for recent progress, but a statement of trust and shared ambition. We believe in the direction we are heading, and stability is a crucial part of building long-term success."
