Celtic Loan Interest Beaten to the Punch
The Potters' late swoop comes after Celtic had explored a loan move to bring the versatile midfielder to Parkhead. Reports earlier in the day indicated that Celtic had submitted a temporary offer, with the Hoops monitoring Devenny as a potential £6m permanent or loan option to reinforce Martin O'Neill's midfield unit.
However, Stoke City moved decisively in the final hours of the window to agree terms with Crystal Palace and bring Devenny in for medical testing ahead of the cutoff.
Versatility for the Championship
Devenny, who joined Palace from Airdrieonians in 2023, has made 60 senior appearances for the Eagles, contributing 4 goals and 2 assists while earning 14 caps for Northern Ireland:
Tactical Flexibility: Highly adaptable across central midfield, attacking midfield, or operating along the left flank as a winger or even a wing-back if needed
Premier League & European Experience: Member of Palace's squad during their FA Cup and Europa Conference League runs.
Key Stoke Addition: Gives Stoke dynamic midfield energy as they finalize their deadline-day business.
Final documentation is being processed between Stoke City and Crystal Palace as the medical completes.
