Sunderland are seeking out an alternative option to their initial plans to bring in Leicester City talent Abdul Fatawu this summer, after a £27.5m bid was rejected for the 21-year-old Ghanaian.
Now, according to transfer guru Pete O'Rourke, the club are now lining up a move for RB Salzburg star Adam Daghim.
The versatile 19-year-old is valued at around £13m by the Austrian side, and has been subjected to interest from other Premier League sides as the window draws towards it's closing stages.
Adam Daghim may not be the most familiar name amongst Europe's attackers, but his performances for RB Salzburg have suggested that this may not be the case for too much longer.

Should be having his breakout season next year … versatile attacking threat, pace, movement, directness all making him suitable for quick transitions and counter-attacking teams.

Aged just 19, the Danish forward scored twice and laid on a further five assists in the Austrian Bundesliga last season, making 18 starts across the course of the season. Noted for his versatility, he would add an option all across a Sunderland attack that has already added the likes of Marc Guiu and Simon Adingra this summer.
Daghim has already displayed that versatility this season - the youngster started as a central striker in Salzburg's opening game of the season, before making substitute appearances against Club Brugge in the Champions League and Hartburg in the Austrian Bundesliga as a left winger.
Noted for his speed and direct play, which will likely suit the counter-attacking style displayed by Sunderland already this season, Daghim may prove to be a shrewd signing for The Black Cats this summer.
Sunderland's attention in Daghim stems from the back of a rejected offer for Leicester City starlet Abdul Fatawu.

The 21-year-old Ghanaian had an impressive start to his Premier League career last season, assisting an opening-day equaliser by veteran Jamie Vardy against Tottenham, but had his campaign abruptly curtailed following a cruciate ligament injury toward the end of 2024.
Now back within The Foxes fold, appearing in both Championship matches for Leicester this season, Fatawu was subjected to interest from a Premier League return in Sunderland, but Leicester City rejected a £27.5m bid from Regis le Bris' side, according to Ben Jacobs, which has led The Black Cats to pursure other options - such as Daghim.
