Football Park ranked tier one source Fabrizio Romano has reported that the French winger will make the move to Germany for the price of €22 million. Personal terms have been reached with both player and club with attacking midfield Adam Hlozek not included as part of the fee like one of the first negotiations suggested.
Terrier ended last year’s campaign with Stade Rennais FC on 36 appearances in all competitions, nine goals and four assists. He missed the first couple of games early on in the season as he was battling a cruciate ligament tear he suffered in the previous season.
Over the last 365 days, Terrier is in the high 90 percentile versus other forwards in the top five European league for blocks, interceptions, progressive passes and pass completion per 90 minutes of football.
Leverkusen don’t need much improvement after their incredible season last year, but Xavi Alonso could always rely on someone like Terrier as a back-up winger/ attacking midfielder to Florian Wirtz or Jonas Hoffman in case they suffer major injuries.
He has been a solid performer for Rennes over the last four years but it is now time for him to start a new chapter in his career and head towards the Bundesliga over in Germany. If things turn out well for Martin, he could finally see himself getting a call up to the French national side after as the 25 year old has only ever played for the Under 21s.
