We have made it. Yet another final day of the Premier League season and once again there is still plenty to play for. We saw the final team going down confirmed as well as the final spots in Europe get confirmed.

Brighton 0-3 Manchester United

It was a phenomenal performance from United like we have gotten used to under Michael Carrick. There was one thing on everyone’s mind going into this game and that was can Bruno break the assist record.

The game had its first goal in the 33rd minute when Patrick Dorgu scored from a corner. It was a corner that would break a record as Bruno would make it his 21st assist of the season. However, while that was being celebrated 11 minutes later Bryan Mbeumo would score to make it 2-0 to United. Finally, the main man himself would end his historic campaign with a goal and make it 3-0.

Burnley 1-1 Wolves

A battle at the bottom. This was a game that neither team had anything to play for. Both relegated after long and difficult seasons. The game started very quick as Florentino would be deemed as handling Krejci’s header. Adam Armstong would convert it to make it 1-0. However, just 2 minutes after the second half started Zian Flemming would level the game and that’s how it would end. This would mean that Wolves spent all 38 game weeks at the bottom of the table, something never seen before in topflight football.

Crystal Palace 1-2 Arsenal

The Premier League champions end their season off in style as they manage to add another 3 points to their tally. The first goal came in the 42nd minute as Gabriel Jesus would find the bottom left corner. Noni Madueke would make it 2-0 in the 48th minute as Arsenal would add yet another goal from a corner to their staggering tally. In the 89th minute Mateta would make it 2-1 before Pino would looked to have made it 2-2. However, the goal was ruled offside and Arsenal would take their tally to 85 points.

Fulham 2-0 Newcastle

Newcastle can finally say goodbye to this horror season in the League. The first goal would come from Issa Diop as a free kick was sent in. He would be the quickest to react after it hit the bar and make it 1-0. Then in the 80th minute the game was put to bed as Tom Cairney would score a beautiful goal after a corner routine. It would be a goal that would see Fulham leapfrog Newcastle in the league and finish in 11th.

Liverpool 1-1 Brentford

This was a game that Liverpool’s old number 2 would haunt them as Kelleher would have a man of the match performance. However, he couldn’t stop former teammate Curtis Jones scoring as Liverpool broke on the counter. The goal would be celebrated differently as it was Salah who assisted it, and it would be his last ever one for Liverpool. However, the game wasn’t meant to be a fairytale ending as Kevin Schade would level the game up in the 64th minute with a diving header. However, it wasn’t enough for Brentford as they were just not able to do enough to get into Europe next season.

Manchester City 1-2 Aston Villa

The Europa League champions were back in action and didn’t miss a beat after their comfortable midweek victory. City would take the lead after 23 minutes as Semenyo would score from a tight angle after a corner. However, the lead would vanish just 2 minutes into the second half as Ollie Watkins showed why he was in the England squad before doing it once again in the 61st minute for 2-1 Villa. Once again, we see a fairytale ending not happen as City waves bye to Pep, Bernardo Silva and John Stones.

Nottingham Forest 1-1 Bournemouth

In the game that confirmed Bournemouth in the Europa League, they faced a team that made the semi-finals. The game was started off by a man proving why he should’ve been in the England squad as Morgan Gibbs-White would slot in a beautiful shot after a free kick. However, Bournemouth wouldn’t take that lying down. In the 64th minute they had the leveller as Marcus Tavernier would place a shot from the right side of the box past Sels to make it 1-1. However, neither side was able to get another, and the points would be shared.

Sunderland 2-1 Chelsea

The Black Cat’s wonder season has finished, and it finished in style as they completed the double over Chelsea. The scoring would be started off as Trai Hume would find himself in some space after a long ball. He would place it near post beating Sanchez for 1-0. The next goal would come in the 50th minute as Brian Brobby would tap the ball across the face of the goal where it would hit a flat-footed Gusto. He would end up converting it into his own net to double Sunderland’s lead. Palmer would snatch one back and Chelsea looked like they might try and get a second. However, Fofana would end that hope as he saw a second yellow and like many times this season Chelsea went down to 10 men. The game finished 2-1 and Sunderland will be playing in Europe next season while Chelsea kiss that dream goodbye.

Tottenham 1-0 Everton

In the class for survival Tottenham fans might have committed a rule that shouldn’t be broken. That being “never fall in love with a loan player”. This rule was completely ignored as loanee Joao Palhinha would score the only goal. That goal was worth more than anything. It saved them this season and meant that they would make sure that next season they would be in the English top flight.

West Ham 3-0 Leeds

A win that will feel like a loss. West Ham did everything they could. They saw their first goal in the 67th minute as Valentine Castellanos would score. Only 12 minutes later, in what could be his last game for West Ham, Jarrod Bowen would score. Finally, in the 94th minute Callum Wilson would make it 3-0. However, they would check their phones and see that all their effort would mean nothing as the outcome was still the same and in the end, they will be in the Championship next season.
