Millwall had the pleasure of bringing Preston North End down to The Den and then put in a great display, beating them 3-1. Contributing to two of those goals was both George Honeyman and Macaulay Langstaff. However, we have decided to only choose one of these boys to make the list and that will be Honeyman because he had a slightly better game statistics wise.
The attacking midfielder found himself on the scoresheet and provided an assist to his fellow potential candidate in this list, Langstaff. It wasn’t just goal contributions where Honeyman shone though, he ended the match with a pass accuracy of 88% (22/25), 2/3 successful dribbles, a tackles won percentage of 100% (2/2) and 3 clearances. The only thing letting him down and not allowing him to go higher is that he was booked which probably affected his Fotmob rating.

Coventry City travelled to Elland Road this Saturday and they were dominated by Leeds United, losing 3-0. Winger Wilfred Gnonto is a big reason why. The Italian found the back of the net in excellent fashion to open the scoring and then in the second half provided an assist for teammate Joel Piroe to ensure all three points would be going in Leeds’ favour.
With a 100% successful dribble rate (1/1), 5 touches inside the opposition box, 6 recoveries and 7 defensive actions, it is clear to see that Gnonto was all over the pitch and making an impact. Substituted off during the 83rd minute, Fotmob have credited him to an 8.5 rated performance.

You might not have thought that a goalkeeper that was on a side that lost and conceded twice in a 2-0 loss to Blackburn Rovers be so high in this list but QPR’s Paul Nardi was fantastic this weekend. The 30 year old proved why he deserves that starting spot in the team despite not getting any younger and fans are giving shouts of him potentially being one of, if not the, best keepers in the Championship.
In the 90 minutes that Nardi played, he registered a whopping 10 saves, including a moment in the match where the Frenchman pulled of an incredible quadruple save to keep the match goalless at that point in time. He faced 4.75 expected goals on target, prevented 2.75 goals and made 10 recoveries. With those efforts, Fotmob have honoured Nardi with an 8.9 rating.

— Hull City (@HullCity) September 28, 2024
After a bit of a disappointing start to the season with results not really going their way and a poor transfer window, Hull City are picking up form, securing their second win in a row. They beat Cardiff City 4-1 yesterday, making it the seventh time in a row were they have handed defeat to the Welsh club. Playing a huge role in that win was Algerian winger Mohamed Belloumi.
He was influential in this match as he grabbed two goals to his name before the ref had even blown his whistle for half time. He massively outperformed his xG of 0.36, had a 100% shot accuracy with 3/3 shots on target, 9 touches inside the opposition box and a 60% successful dribbling rate (3/5). All that was enough for Fotmob to grant him with a rating of 9.2, there wasn’t much more he could have done.
Borja Sainz hat-trick hero! 👏 pic.twitter.com/SJQU1WjHL7

Yeah, it was fairly obvious that Borja Sainz would be ranked number one after his sensational hattrick display in Norwich’s 2-3 away win over Derby County. He couldn’t have done it without the help of teammate Josh Sargent who provided two assists for the Spaniard. Sainz was the only scorer for Norwich and those three goals have helped him climb up to second in the Championship Golden Boot race.
Sainz had an 80% shot accuracy with 4/5 being on target, 7 touches inside Derby County’s box, outperformed his xG of 1.35, won 4 duels and recovered the ball 6 times. All in all, he was the best player on the pitch across all of the Championship as so Fotmob gave him a deserved 9.7 rating.
The beauty of football is that anyone can become a hero at any time. Will we see a new batch of players of five completely new ones? Tune in next week to find out.
