Top 3 Best Under 21 Players To Look Out For In The Premier League This Season

The Premier League season is finally upon us and we are sure for yet another interesting season filled with ups and downs.

One thing is always for certain in the Premier League though and that is there is always a breakout star!

It was Kobbie Mainoo and Cole Palmer that stole the show last season but who will it be this year?

In this article we take a look at three potential players under the age of 21 that could be breakout stars for this season.

Toby Collyer - Manchester United

Maybe this is slightly biased as I am a Manchester United fan myself however the signs are there.

Over the past two seasons under Erik Ten Hag there has consistently been at least one player to break into the United squad and steal the show.

Last season it was Kobbie Mainoo. The season before that it was Alejandro Garnacho. And now the stage is set for another and I am pretty sure it will be Toby Collyer.

His potential involvement was hinted at at the end of last season's FA Cup final with Ten Hag speaking to Collyer after the game. This sent fans wild with the United boss doing a similar thing with Mainoo after the Carabao Cup victory the season before.

And already, before the season has even started, Collyer has begun to break into the team.

Collyer has been heavily involved with United during preseason even being given the captain’s armband for the second half against Rosenborg.

Not only this but he was also involved in the Red Devils Community Shield defeat to Manchester City last week. A game where he impressed off the bench.

At ease when having possession of the ball as well as showing understanding of what is going on around him this 20 year old defensive midfielder is clearly liked by Ten Hag.

It is almost a guarantee that he will be involved to some degree this season and if he is he will certainly be one to look out for going forward.

Omari Hutchinson - Ipswich Town

For many years now there has been a lot of excitement surrounding Omari Hutchinson.

Having been in Charlton Athletic, Arsenal and Chelsea’s academies there is a lot of pressure on the 20 year old to succeed.

Now with Ipswich having finally agreed a permanent move from Chelsea, worth a club record £18 million by the way, he will get the chance to show why there has been so much hype.

Hutchinson was a key part of Kieran McKenna’s Ipswich last season especially towards the end of the season. And having scored 11 goals and managing 6 assists it will be interesting to see how he does in England’s top flight.

If he can continue that form and show any sign of the player he was last season or the player that he has been hyped up to be, the sky is well and truly the limit for this winger.

And with Ipswich being tipped for instant relegation from the division as well, if he can keep them up with his goals or creative play Hutchinson will be in for an exciting future. Could this be his year?

Yankuba Minteh - Brighton & Hove Albion

Yankuba Minteh made the switch from Newcastle to Brighton this summer after a very successful loan spell with Feyenoord last season.

His 11 goals and 6 assists with Feyenoord convinced Brighton to splash out a massive £30 million on the winger and now he is set to finally have his breakout season in the Premier League.

Minteh has shown during his time in the Eredivisie that he can be a huge goal threat but he also has insane dribbling ability. This being one of his biggest strong points.

Last season he completed the most progressive carries into the area in the Dutch league with 91. This is something he has already displayed during pre-season with Brighton.

Having already managed to get on the scoresheet for them multiple times in pre-season - the first 15 minutes into the game against Kashmira Antlers and the second against Villarreal, a game that ended 4-0 by the way - this 20 year old winger is already proving what a talent he is and could be for the Seagulls this season.

He is sure to get Brighton fans excited and is one to look out for this year.
