Tottenham Defender Linked with Potential Exit with Serie A Giant Looming

AS Roma Target Tottenham Defender Amidst Injury Woes

AS Roma have identified Tottenham defender Radu Dragusin as a fresh target for the late stages of the January transfer window after an injury to Mario Hermoso, according to Calcio Mercato.

Dragusin is reportedly pushing to make an exit from North London this month with a move to Serie A welcomed, with the Romanian unhappy with a lack of gametime since his return from an injury that brought an early end to his 24/25 season back in January.

Since his return, the 23-year-old has made just one appearance in a Tottenham shirt, playing 13 minutes as a substitute for Archie Gray at the end of Spurs' 1-0 win over Crystal Palace in the Premier League at the end of December.

Dragusin Pushing for Roma Move After Hermoso Injury

With Mario Hermoso out injured for the next month after a muscle tear, Roma have accelerated their plans to sign Radu Dragusin from Tottenham this month with the player and his camp reportedly pushing to make the move happen.

With Cristian Romero, Micky Van de Ven and Kevin Danso all ahead of the former Genoa defender in the pecking order under Thomas Frank, Dragusin has welcomed a potential opportunity to make a return to Italy in search of more gametime, particularly amidst Spurs' struggles under the former Brentford boss so far this season.

Roma have already executed moves for Aston Villa striker Donyell Malen and Marseille forward Robinio Vaz, the Trigoria club are only open to making a move for Dragusin on a loan move until the end of the season, with an option to purchase him permanently thought to be anticipated as a part of negotiations.

According to the Roma Press, one thing is certain about the deal - Dragusin and his camp have repeatedly made clear their wishes for a change of scenery and a return to Italy.
