Tottenham Hotspur look set to try and hijack North London rivals, Arsenal's deal for Hearts' U21 star James Wilson, according to Michael Bridge and Lawrie Anne Brown.
After last night's stunning comeback against Manchester City it appears that Tottenham are full of confidence and this is expanding into their transfer market strategy as they attempt a hijack.
Spurs have long been proven to be targeting young talents in the market to futureproof the squad, as indicated by the club targeting him for the U21 side, like Arsenal, with both sides essentially offering a 6 month trial period in the youth set up before signing in the summer if he impresses.
It's not a shock that when talent like this appears available top sides are battling it out and especially with the growing emphasis in the Premier League's giants to 'conquer' the U21 market.
Talking of Wilson specifically though he has become somewhat of a breakout star at the Scottish side and made his European debut this season and scored his maiden European goal, against Moldovan side FC Petrocub, on top of this he has also gained a cap for the national team.
Understand Spurs are also interested. Initial loan with option to buy. Would be for U21 squad not first team. With @LawrieAnneBrown #THFC https://t.co/dGTn5uRLZt

Unfortunately for Wilson he has not been able to really break into the first team of Hearts as they continue their push at the top of the Scottish Premier League, a few appearances off the bench and a start are all that has been afforded to him and with the side having a 6 point gap at the top of the league taking chances on 18 year olds is unlikely to be the priority, though his talent is evident.
