This is a vital game for Spurs as they look to fight to stay in the Premier League. However, they aren’t the only side who are in a fight. Brington are in touching distance of a place in Europe and a win would do wonders for their chacnes.

It didn’t start well for Brighton as after just 20 minutes they were having to take off Diego Gomez after he went down with an injury. However, it almost didn’t matter as in the 32nd minute Micky Van de Ven almost found himself putting the ball into the back of his own net.

Then in the 39th minute Spurs had it. Pedro Porro found himself on the end of a Xavi Simons cross and put it away for 1-0 Spurs. Verbruggen didn’t cover himself in much glory as he found himself in no mans land.

He almost immedietly made up for this as Spurs looked to make it 2-0 and once again it was Porro taking the shot. He managed to get a big hand to it and put it over. However, there still was another goal in this half as Brighton played a cross into the Spurs box that found Kaoru Mitoma. Without taking a touch Mitoma sidefooted a volley into the back of the net to level the game.

It went into half time looking like it was going to be a normal game this year for Spurs one that they just couldn’t get over, they couldn’t hold out. However, that all changed in the 77th minute as Xavi Simmons made it 2-1 with an excellent finish. He cut inside the left win before releasing a shot towards the right hand side that crashed into the post and in.

They looked to have finally won a game, or at least that was until the 95th minute. Danso had the ball in the Spurs box and was unable to stop Van Hecke from taking the ball from him. Van Hecke would square it and find Georginio Rutter in the middle of the box and he would fire them back level.

It will be heart breaking for Spurs, being so close to finally getting their first league win in 2026. However, they just couldn’t do it and they stay in the bottom 3 as they look on to see if Forest and West Ham pick up points. As for Brighton, they have put the pressure on the race for Europe now bing a point behind 6th place Chelsea.
