Allegedly, York, whose family worth is estimated to be in the region of $6.4 billion, had used his personal phone to organise a £100 (or $140) rendezvous with a sex worker in a trailer park, located in East Palestine, Ohio, where he was arrested on Saturday.

Wild right? The 46-year-old American, who also co-owns the San Francisco 49ers and Scottish outfit Rangers, filed for divorce from wife Danielle in May, and has clearly been seeking to enjoy his newfound freedom.

The Youngstown, Ohio born businessman pleaded no contest to prostitution charges on Monday following his arrest on Sunday evening, after he was arrested following his response to an advert to a known prostitution site in the region.

According to court documents, York had, “in his possession his cellular device which was used to arrange the criminal act”, while he was also charged with “possessing criminal tools” and engaging in “prostitution.”

After he was released on a bond worth $5,000, York cut a plea deal on Monday, which saw the initial charges of prostitution get downgraded to disorderly conduct, as well as one count of possessing criminal tools.

As punishment, York has been made to pay $1,150 (£843) in fines, and has also been sentenced to one day in jail, which he was given credit for time served. It has been reported that York has also completed an online course.

Quite the situation he finds himself in, and as the co-owner of two of the most vocal fanbases in the UK, you can imagine the chants that will be levelled at him the next time he shows up to a game, either at Ibrox or Elland Road.

Within the billionaire sphere, there is always some form of shifty behaviour, and in truth, York’s offence is as minor as they come at that level - however, he has now altered his image forever, and it wouldn’t come as a surprise if he looked to sell the two UK based football clubs in a bid to give them a cleaner image.
