Leicester appear to have finally woken up in the summer transfer window, as rumours circle that they are nearing the signing of Feyenoord striker Julian Carranza, a deal that could go through with the help of ex-striker Jamie Vardy.

Leicester have only made one upcoming deal this summer, this being the free transfer of Asmir Begovic from Everton, and with a host of key players leaving for fees during the window, including Mads Hermansen, James Justin and Wilfried Ndidi, many have been surprised at the Foxes refusal to reinvest the money brought in by those transfer fees.
However, Leicester appear to be addressing the need for a Jamie Vardy replacement with the signing of former Philadelphia Union forward Carranza - though it is a long way to replenishing their stocks in the defensive half of the field, the Argentinian looks to be a useful piece of transfer business.
Carranza has only been at Feyenoord for one season, and in that time netted a relatively measly return of five goals. However, it is not his Feyenoord form that has Leicester interested - the Argentine netted 43 times in 95 games for MLS side Philadelphia Union between 2021 and 2024, earning him his first move to Europe.
A player built for the aggressive, physical nature of the Championship, Carranza thrives on holding off centre backs and bullying his way through the backline to get in on goal, although his finishing is perhaps still a little raw.

Football Park understands that Feyenoord are interested in a short-term deal for Jamie Vardy, and should they land the Leicester legend, Carranza would be loaned out as a result. It appears that despite no longer wearing the badge, Vardy still brings luck to the Foxes.
