Walsall have agreed a loan deal with Stockport County for the signing of Jid Okeke Pete O'kourke reports.
The 20-year old defender came through Stockport's academy and made his debut this season in the EFL cup defeat to Blackburn. He had short loan spell at South Shields in the National League South last season before being recalled by Stockport and sent out on loan again to Rochdale for the remainder of the campaign.
His time in the National League was cut short due to injury which saw him miss the final two months of the season as Rochdale went on to reach the playoff semi-final narrowly missing out 4-3 to Southend.

Matthew Dennis joins on loan from MK Dons until January.
Jid Okeke has joined until the end of the season, on loan from Stockport County.
Welcome, lads! 🤝#RAFC
Walsall who play their football in League Two missed out on promotion in the playoff final against Wimbledon. A cagey affair which saw them come out on the wrong end of a 1-0 scoreline.
They've had a strong start this term already with six games played picking up four wins thus far. Okeke will be looking to add solidity to Walsall's back line with the hope that they can go one better this time out and secure promotion.

From the bottom of our hearts, we can't thank you all enough for your outstanding support home and away this season 👏

The German born defender has a Nigerian citezenship and is comfortable playing both right back and left back, which he has been asked to do on occasion so far in his career. He'll bring both speed and power down the flank for The Saddlers this season.
