After the likes of Liam Henderson, Aaron Hickey, Josh Doig, Lewis Ferguson and Kieron Bowie all swapping Scotland's top-flight for Italy in recent years, could the current Scotland U21 captain, David Watson, be the next in a long line for Serie A?

According to Marcello Giordano, of il Resto del Carlino, Bologna are interested in Kilmarnock midfielder David Watson as the club are on the hunt for possible reinforcements in midfield this summer.

Giordano also reports that both Rangers and Celtic are also in contention for his signature this summer. With previous reports have linked the midfielder to Aberdeen and Lazio.

If signed Watson would become the third player that the Rossoblù have signed from the Scottish Premiership; after signing Aaron Hickey from Hearts in 2020 and Lewis Ferguson from Aberdeen in 2022 and were also previously interested in Udinese's Lennon Miller last summer from his former club Motherwell.

The 21-year-old has played over 135 appearances for Killie, having the joined the club's youth system when he was ten years old, and is out of contract at Rugby Park this summer and looks set to be on the move.
