Joseph Wildsmith Looks to be Ready to Leave West Bromwich Albion

Joseph Wildsmith looks to be ready to leave West Brom after playing just 7 matches this season. According to WestBromXtra, his decision was finally made after the signing of Max O’Leary as this pushed him down to the 3rd choice keeper at the club.

While it hasn’t been reported what clubs have been looking at him and are reporting interest in the 30-year-old, it is understood that interest is being held by multiple clubs. Having only managed to play 7 matches this season he is expected to leave this window and see a fresh start with a new club.

It looks like the main reason behind his decision to leave the club is down to the lack of playing time he has had and will now have being the third choice keeper.

It is unclear what clubs are looking at him and if the clubs involved would see him still playing in the Championship or in England, however, for him it doesn’t look like that would matter as game time is his main focus currently.

With the new signing of Max O’Leary, the game time that he had has dropped significantly and shows the lack of trust that the club has in him going forward as a result. This would have been one of the driving factors behind his choice to leave.

Elsewhere in the Championship, Wrexham look to be closing in on Barnsley forward Davis Keillor-Dunn as they hope to keep their promotion dreams alive.

Joseph Wildsmith will be looking to leave this window and with only 3 hours of the window left, he might struggle to be able to pick and choice what option he can have to leave. The 30-year-old will focus on a team that he can see himself getting a good amount of game time, something he won’t get at West Brom.
