West Bromwich Reportedly Enquire About Swedish Centre-Back

West Bromwich Albion have reportedly enquired about 6ft 5in centre-back Filip Beckman from Swedish side GAIS, according to @EyaWeGew on X. The club would be interested in purchasing the player on a permanent transfer.

Before making a move, Albion would look to move Caleb Taylor on. Taylor, 22, has been on successive loan moves away from Albion in the last few seasons. Millwall have been interested in the player.

Who is the Swedish Giant?

The 22-year-old who plays in the Swedish top-tier, has been in the eyes of multiple Championship clubs. Blackburn Rovers and Oxford United have been interested in Beckman.

Being 6ft 5in, he possesses the physical qualities required for the EFL Championship. However, a lot is not known about the Swede, but he has racked up quite a few appearances for GAIS. He has played in 15 of the possible 20 Allsvenskan games this season and is clearly a favourite of Head Coach Fredrik Holmberg.

Beckman could be one of the next Championship players who have been unearthed from relatively unknown European Leagues. N'Golo Kante and Romain Saiss spring to mind. Beckman could be another West Brom recruit who could also propell them to the Premier League.

West Brom Centre-Back to Millwall?

The Baggies' young English centre-back, Caleb Taylor, has been tipped for a move to Millwall.

Taylor has been spent the past the last three seasons on loan to Wycombe, Bolton and Cheltenham. He hasn't really had a chance at West Brom, having only made four appearances for the club. He did however have a fruitful season at Wycombe last season and this has attracted the attention of Millwall.

If West Brom were to move him on, it would create space in the squad for Filip Beckman to come in.
