There are funny moments in football, and then there’s whatever happened to Piero Hincapié against Burnley on Monday night.

In the middle of Arsenal trying to grind out a tense win to put them on the cusp of becoming Premier League Champions, Hincapié somehow ended up producing the most unintentionally hilarious moment of the season.

It started innocently enough. The Arsenal defender tangled with Axel Tuanzebe near the touchline as both players chased a loose ball. Hincapié hit the deck, Tuanzebe tried to avoid stepping on him, and instead accidentally stood on the back of his shorts.

Physics then took over.

As Hincapié slid forward, the shorts stayed exactly where they were, under Tuanzebe’s boot, leaving the Emirates crowd and everybody watching at home with far more of the Arsenal defender than they expected to see.

The worst part? The cameras absolutely loved it.

Not only did broadcasters replay it, they slowed it down. Multiple times. Social media instantly exploded with “Arse-nal” jokes, “full moon” comments, and enough cheek-related puns to last the rest of the season. Some described it as “literal squeaky bum time.”

To be fair to Hincapié, he handled it about as well as possible. One quick roll, shorts pulled back up, dignity partially restored and just carried on playing football. Arsenal fans probably won’t care too much anyway because the Gunners still got the win thanks to Kai Havertz’s goal.

Still, for one glorious Premier League moment, Hincapié truly put the “arse” in Arsenal.
