What Will Jeremy Sarmiento Bring To Burnley?

Itโ€™s Transfer Deadline Day and Burnley have today confirmed the signing of Jeremy Sarmiento on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion. A deal that we believe is fantastic.

But why is the deal so good? And what will Sarmiento bring to Scott Parkerโ€™s Burnley side? Well we are here to explain.

Who Is Jeremy Sarmiento?

Ecuadorian international Sarmiento has been on Brightonโ€™s books since 2021 where he joined them as a youth player following a period in the youth academies of both Charlton Athletic and Benfica.

In his opening season with the seagulls he won their young player of the season award setting him up for an exciting career.

However he hasnโ€™t really broken into the Brighton squad since going on loan spells to West Brom in 2023 and Ipswich Town in 2024.

It was his time at Ipswich though that has got him the most attention helping guide them to a second place finish in the EFL Championship last campaign.

Now Sarmiento has joined Burnley where he will look to help guide them to promotion again.

Why Is This A Good Signing For Burnley?

Burnley have started off their Championship campaign very well under Scott Parker. Currently they sit in 5th after getting 2 wins in their opening 3 games. However there is certainly a missing piece in the puzzle.

This comes especially following the departures of wingers Wilson Odobert to Tottenham Hotspur and Anass Zaroury to Lens.

Sarmiento offers championship experience as well as exciting ability. If they are to bolster their wide options this is the way to do it.

And if Sarmiento can hit a good run of form - with the players that are alongside him in this Burnley side - he could help guide them to promotion come the end of the season.

This is a fantastic signing from Burnley.
