According to information from The Sun, former Brentford marksman Ivan Toney was arrested on suspicion of 2 counts of assault and 1 of affray in a London nightclub in the early hours of Saturday morning.
It has been stated that he has since been released on bail whilst police enquiries continue into the matter.
BBC journalist Sami Mokbel initially broke the exclusive on Sunday afternoon, but without details of who the player in question was; since then, exclusive information from The Sun has revealed that it was Ivan Toney. But why and how did he end up in a position of being arrested?

Police said an incident took place during the early hours of Saturday in the West End.
The player, 29, was arrested at the scene on…
Initially some fans on X had pieced together clues that led many to believe that Crystal Palace's Daniel Munoz was the one arrested; however, this was cleared up by a Manchester City fan following the breaking news.
'Goater's Motors' (told you an unlikely source broke the news) replied to a fellow X user stating it was in fact Ivan Toney and he had broken the nose of a mates colleague.
When questioned why it had kicked off, he stated that it was because the mate's colleague had asked him for betting tips for the weekend.

Now it is important to state here that this is not being reported as fact; there is no intention to use the above X post as a reporting of fact, simply to highlight fan reactions and jokes being made about the situation.
Reports are currently circulating that the real reason that the incident kicked off was due to a fan's behaviour startling Toney, and he may have reacted after thinking the fan was attempting to take jewellery from him.
A witness speaking to The Sun said;
"He walked past a table of a group of lads.
"One of them recognised him and said 'oh it's Ivan Toney' and tried to put his hands around his neck to get a photo with him.
"And then Toney said 'get off me, get off me."
As of yet nobody knows the full details of the case, and in time they will be released pending the conclusion of the Met Police's investigation into the events of Saturday morning.
