When Will Alisson Return From Injury?
Liverpool goalkeeper, Alisson Becker, missed the Red’s 3-0 win over Bournemouth due to injury. The Brazilian stopper was left out of the matchday squad, replaced by Caoimhin Kelleher, who is a very serviceable option in net.
The Irishman proved his quality as he kept out a rifling effort from Luis Sinisterra late on in the fixture, securing Liverpool’s clean sheet.

Alisson aggravated a muscle injury in his hamstring during the Reds’ clash with Milan in the Champions League. Although the Brazilian played the duration of the match, and his team came out 3-1 winners, the injury to Alisson’s hamstring was serious enough to keep him out of action for the next game.

The Brazilian has suffered these kinds of injuries to his thighs in the past, and the hamstring muscle is notoriously easy to reinjure. Last season he missed 18 fixtures in total due to muscular injuries, mainly his hamstring, and in 19/20 he missed 15 games with a similar injury to his calf.
Perhaps this is what has forced Liverpool’s hand into purchasing Giorgi Mamardashvilli, with the Georgian set to join Liverpool at the end of this season. Despite Alisson still being relatively young for a keeper, the Reds still clearly feel a necessity to replace him.
New Liverpool boss Arne Slot has confirmed that the Brazilian shot-stopper will definitely miss their carabao cup clash with West Ham United tomorrow. Once again Caoimhin Kelleher will fill his boots in the Liverpool goal.
Slot also advised fans that it will be “tight” over Alisson’s potential to start the weekend’s clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers, as he might need more time to recover.
