Where Will Xavi Simons Be Playing Next Year?

With numerous clubs interested in the signature of young Dutch talent Xavi Simons, he has decided that he wants to stay at Red Bull Leipzig for one more year.

Fabrizio Romano, someone that Football Park rate as a tier one source, has reported that Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff has been pushing for the recapture of Simons for the last 10 days. Fellow Bundesliga side Bayern Munich have also been trying to purchase the Dutchman but now that he is committed to another club, they can refocus their attention to Désiré Doué.

Simons first burst onto the scene after a successful stint at PSV Eindhoven following his departure from PSG. He was then bought by PSG again as per a buy-back clause in his contract. He was happy with this move thinking it would allow him more game time. That wasn’t to be so as of last season he has been at RB Leipzig on loan where he has flourished.

PSG now have no intention of selling Xavi so they are happy with the loan move proposal. The deal is not a loan with the option to buy as PSG would ideally hold off that eventuality until at least 2025. Romano adds that PSG have been searching for a loan move for Simons since April this year.
