Walsall may have dipped off a bit in more recent weeks but they had a superb start to the season. One of the men behind that has to be full back Connor Barrett.
Barrett proved to be vital not only defensively for Walsall but also going forward. In August he picked up 3 assists - this placing him joint top of the league’s assists charts.
Having also been a part of a defence that has kept 2 clean sheets as well. Barrett had to be in with a shout for this month's award.
Back to League 2 and our first look at Walsall who have signed Barrett from Fylde . A big loss for Fylde I feel and a great addition for Walsall . Lets look

James Berry’s career has been filled with ups and downs so far. Having started at Liverpool he had to make his way to non league football in order to prove himself. But now he is well and truly tearing it up in League Two.
3 Goals in August have helped him on his way to being the joint leading goalscorer in the league so far this season. This greatly helping Chesterfield to what has been a sensational start to the EFL League Two season.

Notts County may not have been promoted last season but it was Jodi Jones that came away with League Two Player of the Season. And Jones has started this season in similar fashion.
In August, the winger claimed 2 goals as well as 3 assists in the league causing mayhem on the wings and proving to be a handful for opposition defenders.
And with his club now sitting second place in the league it is Jones that Notts County can thank. If they are to be promoted come the end of the season it will be this man that has greatly affected that. A solid shout for August’s Player of the Month award.

The final player nominated for August’s award and arguably the favourite to take it home is Doncaster’s Luke Molyneux.
Molyneux has started this season in unbelievable fashion helping guide Doncaster to the top of the table as it stands.
However his 4 goals and 2 assists in August is what has earned him this nomination - especially considering this is more goals specifically than any other player in the division.
He has truly started as he means to go on.
6 G/A in 4 games for Doncaster’s Luke Molyneux.
