Who Are The Highest Goalscorers Over 30 In Europe This Year?

20/09/24 18:07

So often football fans worldwide look out for the best young players in world football. After all, they are the future of the game. But we can’t help but feel maybe some of the older players in European football need to be talked about more.

That’s why we are taking a look at the top five goal scorers in 2024 over the age of 30 from Europe’s top five leagues.

(All stats taken from TransferMarkt)

##** 5th - Alexandre Lacazette - 12 Goals**

First up is former Arsenal man Alexandre Lacazette.

Since leaving the Gunners he has proven to be a dominant striker in the French league for Olympique Lyon. In fact, Lacazette ended last season as the third highest goal scorer in France only behind Kylian Mbappe and Jonathan David.

Averaging a goal every 119 minutes maybe the 33 year old has still got it.

4th - Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - 12 Goals

And next up is Lacazette’s former Arsenal teammate Aubameyang.

Aubameyang proved to be a top scorer while at Arsenal and that has continued since he left the club.

Although he now plays for Al-Qadsiah FC in the Saudi Pro League his time at Marseille was filled with goals. He finished 4th in the Ligue 1 goalscoring charts last season for example.

His 12 goals in 2024 with a 118 minute per goal average mean that he sneaks into 4th on this list as well.

3rd - Andrej Kramaric - 13 Goals

Kramaric is a severely underrated striker. He is a proven Bundesliga goalscorer often battling it out for the Golden Boot in Germany.

His underrated nature is even further emphasised by his inclusion on this list.

13 goals in 2024 so far with surely plenty more to come he averages a goal every 118 minutes as well. An incredible statistic for the 33 year old German.

2nd - Robert Lewandowski - 15 Goals

He had to sneak into this list somewhere didn’t he.

Lewandowski has been a constant goal threat at every club he has played for and the same goes for Barcelona in 2024.

His 15 goals in 2024 gives him an average of 125 minutes per goal. Even at the age of 36 he is a constant source of goals.

1st - Harry Kane - 19 Goals

But top spot goes to Harry Kane.

Since making the switch to Bayern Munich Kane has taken Germany by storm. He doesn’t look like he is going to stop scoring goals anytime soon. It is almost inevitable that he will get on the scoresheet in games.

94 minutes per goal in 2024 is an incredible statistic and at 31 he is the youngest player on this list so won’t be stopping anytime soon.

Tearing it up in the Bundesliga as he did last season, let's hope he can get his hands on a trophy with the goals he scores this year.
