Who would replace Ederson if he left for Saudi Arabia?
Al Ittihad have approached Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson, according to Fabrizio Romano, who Football Park ranks as a tier one source.
The Brazilian was subject of a £25 million bid from Al Nassr last week, however the club ended up signing Bento after their offer was swiftly turned down by City.
Despite this, Ederson remains keen on a move to the Saudi Pro League and contract negotiations are now underway with Al Ittihad.
To let the 30-year-old leave the club, City are looking for an offer in the region of £45 million.

Talks to follow between clubs with Man City to insist on €50/60m valuation, not easy one... but Al Ittihad are trying. pic.twitter.com/5UbGN7RHFu
When he signed from Benfica for £34 million in 2017, the Brazilian was a relatively unknown prospect having only played 57 games for the Portuguese club. However, fast forward seven years and Ederson has been one of the key components in Pep Guardiola’s relentless sky-blue machine.
During his time in Manchester, the goalkeeper has only failed to win the Premier League title on one occasion, despite facing stiff competition from capable Arsenal and Liverpool sides. Their league domination has largely been down to their resilient backline which has seen Ederson win three golden glove awards and keep an outstanding 155 clean sheets in his 332 games for the club.
Manchester City are the sixth side in Premier League history to reach 350 clean sheets in the competition.

As well as this, the 30-year-old has also enjoyed success in England’s cup competitions.
The Citizens have won eight domestic cups whilst Ederson has been at the club.
Perhaps the most monumental moment of his City career came merely over a year ago when the club claimed their first ever UEFA Champions League title against Inter Milan in Istanbul. Although it was Rodri who scored the decisive goal on the night, Ederson was arguably the player of the match, making a plethora of outstanding stops to deny a rather unfortunate Inter front line.
However, after being a mainstay in Guardiola’s side for the best part of a decade, it looks as though City may be willing to let Ederson go with two years left on his contract. If the Brazilian was to leave, Stefan Ortega would be the beneficiary. The German goalkeeper has found opportunities in the side hard to come by since his move from Bielefeld in 2022 but impressed in the absence of Ederson last season. The 31-year-old made nine Premier League appearances at the back end of the campaign, helping push City over the line in a nerve-jangling title fight.
Last season, Stefan Ortega made more saves and more catches per 90 and had a better save % than Ederson in the Premier League.
