Why Does The Transfer Window Close at 7pm and In February?

As the window slams shut at 7pm tonight, many may be thinking that this is not the traditional winter transfer window we are accustomed to.

The traditional time for the British transfer window to close is typically on the 31st January, right up until the clock strikes midnight on the February 1st. However, the deadline has now been changed to 7pm on February 2nd. This is to allow club staff across all departments to have a regular work pattern. Furthermore, this deadline aligns with the French, German and Itakuab deadkubes,

It is important to note that deals can be completed after the deadline, however this is only the case if teams submit a "deal sheet" at least two hours prior to the window shutting. In that case, by now, every team wanting to make a signing this deadline day will already have the plans in place.

Stay tuned as we enter the dying embers of the January transfer window.
