Newcastle Starlet Poised for Old Gold Loan

Newcastle United striker Sean Neave is reportedly travelling to Wolverhampton to undergo a medical ahead of a season-long loan move to Wolves.

The 19-year-old looks set to leave his boyhood club temporarily in search of regular first-team football, with a deadline day switch to Molineux now appearing close.

Neave has risen through the academy ranks at Newcastle after joining the club at the age of 13 and has increasingly found himself involved with the senior squad.

The Winlaton-born forward enjoyed an impressive spell at youth level, scoring 13 goals across all competitions for Newcastle's Under-18s during the 2023/24 campaign before progressing into the Under-21 setup.

Neave made his professional debut in Newcastle's 6-1 Champions League victory over Qarabağ FK before making his Premier League debut on the final day of the 2025/26 campaign, coming off the bench during a 2-0 defeat to Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Despite breaking into Newcastle's senior squad, opportunities are likely to remain limited for Neave at St James' Park, making a loan move a logical next step in his development.

Should the move be completed before the deadline, the 19-year-old will hope regular football at Wolves can help further his development after making his Newcastle breakthrough last season.
