Wolves Launch Bid To Sign Middlesbrough Man

Premier League side Wolves have lodged a bid of £20m, plus a potential £10m in add-ons, to sign Middlesbrough midfielder Hayden Hackney, according to Football League World.

Hackney, who has attracted interest from a number of different Premier League clubs, is an academy product of Middlesbrough and has made a name for himself with his performances at the Riverside.

Now 23, Hackney could potentially be eyeing a move to the Premier League, with the bid from Wolves certainly set to test the Championship side's resolve.

A Hefty Price Tag

With a fee potentially rising to £30m with performance-related addons, a move for Hackney will be a costly one for Wolves.

Following the recent recruitment strategy of Premier League clubs targeting England's lower leagues, Hackney would be another example of a player making the step-up from the EFL to the top-tier.

With over a 100 appearances at Championship level for Middlesbrough, the midfielder has had his fair share of first-team football at the age of just 23. The question will be whether Hackney can continue his impressive performances in the Premier League, if a move to Molineux were to Materialise.
