Wrexham Set to Finish Double Swoop

Wrexham are moving to complete a double deal on Deadline Day, with Burnley defender Joe Worrall set to close a move to the club alongside Sheffield United star Callum O'Hare - both players are completing their medicals today.

Worrall joined Burnley from hometown side Nottingham Forest in 2024 and played his part in both the Claret's promotion to the Premier League that season, but failed to help the club survive relegation the immediate year after. An exit has looked likely for the Englishman all summer, and Wrexham are in the process of finishing a move for the two-time promotion winner as the Red Dragons look to ascend to the Premier League for the very first time.

Callum O'Hare has been a star at Championship level for a number of years, first catching the eye with Coventry City before joining the Blades in 2024 where he has starred since. At 28, he'll want the chance to play Premier League football soon and Wrexham may present the best chance for him to get that done going into next season. He is set to join for £7m.

Busy Red Dragons

Worrall will be joining the club for a sum of £2m, signalling a budget deal for an experienced, reliable, promotion-winning defender.

A modern-day Nottingham Forest legend, he has won promotion out of the Championship in both of his most recent seasons playing in it, and has a wealth of top-flight experience having played 30 Premier League games for Forest as they survived relegation upon their return.

He'll have to compete with the likes of Callum Doyle, Zak Vyner and Dan Scarr at the back, but he is expected to be a main name on the Wrexham team sheet.

O'Hare has consistently been one of the Championship's most sought-after talents over the last few years, and his move to Sheffield United did not end up leading to the Premier League football he deserves to play - he'll be hoping that the Racecourse is the right place to take him there, and he is having a medical in North Wales today before a £7m move.
