Which teams are playing in the Premier League?

The teams involved in the Premier League are, of course, constantly changing. However, for the 2024/25 season, the newly promoted teams are:

Southampton

Leicester City

Ipswich Town

Relegated from the 2023/24 Premiership season were:

Sheffield United

Burnley

Luton Town

The full 20 teams competing in the 2024/25 Premier League season are:

Arsenal, Aston Villa, AFC Bournemouth, Brentford, Brighton & Hove Albion, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Everton, Fulham, Ipswich Town, Leicester City, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest, Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Manchester United is the team in the league with the most Premier League titles, with 13 to their name. They dominated the early stages of the league when it was first introduced for the 1992/93 season. Sir Alex Ferguson, the most successful top-flight manager England has ever seen, turned United into a machine that had most rival fans scared. Liverpool was the dominating force when Sir Alex turned up at United, they failed to win a league title until long after the Scotsman retired in 2013.

Manchester City is up next with eight Premier League titles, rapidly approaching the dynasty left by Sir Alex on the other side of Manchester. The Blues won four Premier League titles in a row for the first time ever in 2024, and have won eight out of a possible 12 titles since their first in 2012.

Chelsea are up next with five Premier League titles, swiftly overtaking London rivals Arsenal, after winning their first Premier title in the 2004/05 campaign. They also went on to win the 2005/06 title, 2009/10, 2014/15 and 2016/17. In terms of Premier League history, they ranked as the third most decorated team of all time.

Arsenal, ironically, occupied the fourth spot on this list, having won three Premier League titles, all under Arsene Wenger in the late 90s and early 2000s. They won the league in 1998, 2002 and did the unthinkable in 2004, winning the league without losing a single game.

The teams with just one Premier League title to their name in the competition are Liverpool, Blackburn Rovers, and Leicester City.
