Midweek Norwegian top-flight football sees FK Haugesund travel south to face Viking in the city of Stavanger. Haugesund have had a poor start to the season and will have to try and turn their form around against a strong Viking team away from home.
KICK OFF: Viking Stadion, 17:00 Wednesday 30th April.
Viking have finished in the top four for two seasons running now and will be looking to do the same again. The club have started strongly once again and are unbeaten in four ,leaving them fourth in the league with three wins, one draw and one loss. They have scored nine goals in their last two games.
Predicted Line Up: Thomas Kinn, Henrik Heggheim, Anders Baertelsen, Henrik Falchener, Martin Roseth, Joe Bell, Zlatko Tripic, Edvin Austbo, Svander Svendsen, Jakob Hansen, Peter Christiansen
Central defender Falchener scored a brace in a recent league game, the veteran centre-half clearly also has an eye for goal and could score another to surprisingly take his tally up to three for the season.
Haugesund have been top-flight participants since 2010, however, after starting with three losses and a goalless draw, that position is already looking under threat. A clean sheet last match and an 11-0 win in the cup are positive but there is still a lot of work to do.
Predicted Line Up: Amund Wichne, Claus Niyukuri, Mikkel Fischer, Madiodio Dia, Oscar Krusnell, Bruno Leite, Morten Konradsen, Julius Eskesen, Vegard Solheim, Ismael Seone, Runar Espejord
Haugesund’s one goal is the best reflection of their start to the season. Midfielder Eskesen scored that singular goal for them in a 3-1 loss to Bryne. If anyone is to score for the side, don’t be surprised if it is the man who's already been on the scoresheet.
Across the last 45 games between the two, Viking have won 20 meetings, Haugesund have won 15, and there have been 10 draws. Both are established Eliteserien clubs and have had spells in Europe in the last decade. Viking recorded their biggest ever win over Haugesund last time out; their last five meetings are as follows:
Haugeseund are struggling this season so far and have conceded over three goals in two of their last three games. Matching the top scorers with the bottom scorers will always result in goals, for one team at least.
For this reason, our betting experts say Half Time Over 1.5 Goals is the best value tip for this game. With odds at 1/1, a bet of £10 could see a potential return of up to £20.
