Our expert betting research has now led us to the ever-thrilling EFL League Two. We’re taking a look at Paul Cook’s Chesterfield side, as they host Mat Sadler’s Walsall team.
The match takes place at the SMH Group Stadium on Saturday.
-Chesterfield haven’t lost in three games
Both teams have exceeded expectations this season. Chesterfield have done well since being promoted from the National League last year.
Walsall have really exceeded things, sitting third in the table, and they’ve looked good value for it.
Chesterfield Predicted Line-up - Ryan Boot; Lewis Gordon, Jamie Grimes, Chey Dunkley, Vontae Daley-Campbell; Michael Jacobs, Darren Oldaker, Tom Naylor; Ryan Colclough, Will Grigg, Liam Mandeville
Whilst Chesterfield have had an excellent start to the League Two campaign so far, they have had inconsistencies in their performances.
They’re off the back of a disappointing result away at Bromley, who are also newly promoted.
Will Grigg could be key if he can continue his goalscoring form.
Walsall Predicted Line-up - Tommy Simkin; Taylor Allen, Harry Williams, David Okagbue; Liam Gordon, Charlie Lakin, Ryan Stirk, Jamie Jellis, Connor Barrett; Nathan Lowe, Jamille Matt
Walsall are a hard side to explain. Whilst they lost 6-2 to Fleetwood last time out, the scoreline wasn’t really reflective of their performance.
Walsall have actually been really good so far this season which has earnt them third spot in the table.
Jamille Matt will be vital to any successes in this fixture, as will Albert Adomah’s experience coming off the bench.
The two sides have met 15 times since 2004. Chesterfield have won six of these fixtures, and Walsall have won five.
Four matches have resulted in draws.
7th March 2017 - Walsall 1-0 Chesterfield - League One
16th August 2016 - Chesterfield 2-0 Walsall - League One
12th March 2016 - Chesterfield 1-4 Walsall - League One
15th December 2015 - Walsall 0-0 (5-3P) Chesterfield - FA Cup
5th December 2015 - Chesterfield 1-1 Walsall - FA Cup
Both teams are coming off of disappointing results in their last fixtures, which makes it difficult to really be sure on what to back.
Given our research, however, we’re pretty confident. The underlying numbers once you disregard their last fixtures really puts Walsall at an advantage in this game.
We think overall the best value tip is Walsall to win, backed up by our research.
Odds of 23/10 on QuinnBet mean that a £10 bet has the potential to return up to £33 in this match.
(odds subject to change)
Chesterfield 0-1 Walsall
Because of Walsall’s good form so far this season, disregarding the previous loss, we think they’ll be too good for Chesterfield.
At the same time, yet in the division above, Charlton Athletic take on Birmingham City.
