The last decade has been one of a rollercoaster for Norwich City and their supporters, three promotions have been made to the Premier League, however each time saw the Canaries relegated straight back down to the Championship.
Between the 2018-19 and 2022-23 seasons, the club changed divisions every season. Being promoted twice and relegated twice, earning the club a yoyo-club reputation.

However, the last few seasons have seen the club rooted in the second tier. That could (finally) change again soon – but not in the way The Canaries' fans, staff or players would want.
Following on from a mixed 2024/25 campaign, which saw Norwich finish in a disappointing 13th place, the hope for Canaries fans that they would be able to mount a push for promotion.
Liam Manning’s side were busy in the transfer window, however also saw key players depart with top scorer Borja Sainz moving to Porto, and midfielder Marcelino Nunez shockingly moving to local rivals Ipswich Town.

And their absences have been felt in this current campaign so far. With Norwich City sitting firmly in the relegation zone and in danger of slipping down to the third tier for the first time since 1985.
With Norwich having just two wins from the opening fifteen games of Championship season, the owners pulled the plug on Liam Manning and elected to appoint former Rangers manager Phillipe Clement in his place.
The Belgian’s first game in charge could hardly have gone much worse - an away test at Birmingham City was the challenge, and after just three minutes Clement saw his new side go 1-0 down.

4-1 was the final score - not the start Clement was hoping for - and it made for yet another tough afternoon for Norwich fans whose side remain rooted in 23rd place in the table with just nine points and above only Sheffield Wednesday on -4 points.
Whilst Clement clearly cannot be written off after just one game, the problems are there for all to see at Carrow Road. The last win for Norwich came away at Blackburn Rovers on August 30th, a run that stretches back to twelve matches.
3 points from 12 games,5 wins in last 32 league games this Norwich team in in serious serious trouble, no characters or real leaders on the pitch.sleepwalking into L1 which is so sad to see.

The Canaries squad isn’t devoid of talent, striker Josh Sargent is amongst the highest regarded marksmen in the Championship, however only five goals in fifteen league matches so far this season. If Norwich are to get themselves out of their current position, there is no doubt that they will need to get Sargent firing in front of goal again.
With two home matches next up for Norwich City, versus Oxford United and QPR respectively, Clement will be hoping that the home advantage will give them the opportunity to earn points and turn their season around heading into the turn of the year. However, their recent home form leaves little room for optimism.
Norwich City are the third team in the entire history of the football league to lose their first seven home league games, and the first in the history of English football’s second tier #ncfc

Time will tell whether Clement can climb Norwich out and away from any relegation fears. But it could not be clearer that they need to start winning, and winning quickly before it’s too late
