Premier League Reaches Halfway Mark - Football Park's Half-Season Top Flight Review for Each Team (Ranked)

Football Park's Half-Season Top Flight Review for Each Team

As the Premier League season has reached the halfway point, we are ranking each teams season so far and ranking them from A-D. We will also be highlighting each clubs most stand out player so far this campaign!

AFC Bournemouth – C

Bournemouth fans would have hoped for a slightly better start to the season continuing on from a 9th place finish in the 2024/25 campaign. It is also looking exceedingly likely that they will lose Antoine Semenyo in the January transfer window which will hinder their attacking threat for the second half of the season. Star Player – Antoine Semenyo

Arsenal – A

Currently sitting at the top of the tree at the halfway mark, Mikel Arteta’s side are continuing to show their dominance in games, having only lost two of their first 19 matches. They have built the strongest squad in the league with signings such as Zubimendi and Madueke, making their chances at the league title stronger. Star Player – Declan Rice

Aston Villa – A

Following on from a tough summer transfer window, Villa fans would have probably expected a slight drop off from their side this season. However, despite a poor first few games where they couldn’t score a goal, they now find themselves going into the second half of the season in 3rd place in the table. Star Player – Morgan Rogers

Brentford – B

In the summer the Bees lost their manager and arguably their two best players in Yoane Wissa and Bryan Mbeumo. They also gave the managerial position to Keith Andrews making it his first managerial role. However, at the halfway stage they find themselves 9th in the table and the 4th best side at home in the division. Star Player – Igor Thiago

Brighton & Hove Albion – C

Following up from an 8th place finish last season, Brighton are struggling to find any sort of consistency in their results so far this season. Currently sitting in 14th position with a relatively young squad, the Seagulls will hope to have a better second half to the campaign. Star Player – Mats Wieffer

Burnley – D

After coming up from the Championship last season, Burnley fans would have been hoping not to see their side drop straight out of the Premier League this season. However, they are sat in 19th position as it stands and are 6 points from safety. The question is, is Scott Parker the man to keep them up or should he be out of a job by now? Star Player – Martin Dubravka

Chelsea – C

After spending big in the summer again, Chelsea would have been aiming for a strong season and start to bridge the gap to the title contenders. However, they are already 15 points behind Arsenal after only 19 games and Enzo Maresca is under pressure to keep his job. Star Player – Enzo Fernandez

Crystal Palace – B

Following on from their FA Cup win and achieving European football, this was always going to be a tough season for the Eagles with so many games and not a huge squad. However, despite this and losing Eberechi Eze in the summer, palace are juggling their games relatively well and are currently 11th in the league. Star Player – Marc Guehi

Everton – B

The Toffees went into the 2025/26 season with a lot more to look forward to than in previous years following their new stadium and summer transfer window bringing in the likes of Jack Grealish and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to bolster their attacking threat. They are currently sat in 8th place with hopes of achieving European football looking a real possibility. Star Player – Iliman Ndiaye

Fulham – C

Following on from a decent campaign last season finishing 11th place, Fulham were not able to spend much during the summer transfer window to strengthen their squad. This season they are 12th place and look set to finish in and around mid-table which would meet expectations from fans prior to the season starting. Star Player – Harry Wilson

Leeds United – B

Following on from newly promoted sides struggling in the last few seasons, Leeds fans would have been a bit concerned about their survival chances this campaign. However, they are currently 6 points above the relegation zone and are picking up a few good results in recent games. Star Player – Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Liverpool – C

Liverpool would have hoped to retain their league title going into the season following a big summer breaking their transfer record on two different occasions. However, the season hasn’t gone as planned with them struggling defensively throughout and sitting in 4th place 13 points behind Arsenal. Star Player – Dominic Szoboszlai

Manchester City – A

Following on from a disappointing 2024/25 season, Pep Guardiola would have had a bit of pressure going into this season to get Manchester City back to the top of the Premier League. They have done just that with them in 2nd place but definitely with a chance at winning the title. Star Player – Erling Haaland

Manchester United – C

Manchester United fans would have been hoping for an improvement on last season, especially with no European football to contend with. Bringing in the likes of Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha in the summer it has helped them to improve results slightly, but they are still very inconsistent. Star Player – Bruno Fernandes

Newcastle United – C

Over the past couple of seasons, Newcastle United have been in and around the European spots in the Premier League. However, this season they have been struggling to manage both Champions League and Premier League games, especially away from home with only 2 wins on the road so far this campaign. Star Player – Bruno Guimaraes

Nottingham Forest – D

Last season, Nottingham Forest were in the Champions League places for the majority of the campaign, eventually finishing in 7th position. However, after spending big in the transfer window, they are currently in a battle for survival and sit in 17th position and only 4 points above the relegation zone. Star Player – Elliot Anderson

Sunderland – A

Following on from their play-off win in May, I don’t think anyone would have predicted that halfway through the Premier League season they would be in 7th position and just 4 points behind Champions League places. Star Player – Robin Roefs

Tottenham Hotspur – C

Following on from a very poor Premier League campaign last time out, Tottenham Hotspur would have hoped for an improvement this season. However, with only 2 home wins so far, they find themselves in 13th position in the table which is below where they should be. Star Player – Christian Romero

West Ham United – D

Last season, West Ham fell down the table a bit from previous seasons, finishing in 15th position. So, they would have hoped to work their way back up the table this time out. However, they are on their second manager already and find themselves in the relegation zone with 14 points from 19 games. So certainly not what they hoped for! Star Player – Jarrod Bowen

Wolverhampton Wanderers – D

This doesn’t need much explanation as after 19 games Wolverhampton Wanderers find themselves on just 3 points and rooted to the bottom of the table. Their season is going that badly that they are on track to become the worse ever Premier League side, breaking Derby’s 11-point record. Star Player – No one
