The Top 5 Best Value Deals This Summer

21/06/24 14:35

With the transfer market officially being opened on June 14th, many clubs will be looking to sign players to try and improve their squad at the best possible price, trying not to overspend and break FFP rules.

Here at Football Park, we’ve suggested five players that would make excellent deals if they decided to leave their current clubs this summer.

Nico Williams

Young Spanish talent Nico Williams is someone that your club should be looking to snatch up a deal as soon as possible.

The 21 year old has just come off the back of a UEFA Euro Player of the Match vs Italy and is in great form. Eight goals and 19 assists from 37 games in all competitions this season is an incredible output.

He helped Athletic Bilbao to lift the Copa Del Rey for the 24th time after a 40 year drought registering a crucial assist to get the equalising goal for Bilbao who would go on to win the tie via penalty shootout.

His market value according to Transfermarkt is €60 million, but tier one rated Football Park source, Fabrizio Romano, has stated that Williams has a release clause worth around €58 million.

Bilbao president Uriate has said,

"The interest is normal but Nico is very happy in Bilbao, we are very happy with him. We're not worried".

I would disagree however as he is a phenomenal player, and a lot of the big clubs will be trying to get his signature this summer.

Barcelona are leading the charge at the moment but Premier League clubs in Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea, as well as Bundesliga side Bayern Munich are amongst the top teams in the race for Williams.

Michael Olise

Crystal Palace star Michael Olise is hot property at the moment.

Despite missing eight games for the London side, he finished the season on 10 goals and six assists from 19 games in the Premier League.

He is a player that naturally would be leaving The Eagles soon as no disrespect to Crystal Palace, but we believe that he has the quality to play for a better team.

In August of last year, he extended his contract, making him available to play for Palace until 2027, but he might not be there by that time.

He was strongly linked to Chelsea last transfer window before signing the extension and Chelsea are in for Olise again this summer. Transfermarkt give an evaluation of him at €55 million and with the money that Chelsea have spent in the past, that should be no issue for Todd Bohley’s Blues.

However, The Telegraph, tier two rated Football Park source, have reported that Olise’s £60 million release clause can only be triggered by clubs who have qualified for the UEFA Champions League, making this option not possible for Chelsea as they failed to do so.

Chelsea aren’t the only Premier League side to be interested in the winger though. Liverpool and both Manchester United and Manchester City are keen to bring him to their clubs.

Jeremie Frimpong

After an incredible unbeaten title winning season with Bayer Leverkusen, Dutch right wing back Jeremie Frimpong has a plethora of clubs he can go to.

He made his way into the Bundesliga Team of the Season 23/24 and ended the season with a domestic double.

Stats wise he totalled an even 14 goals and 14 assists. In comparison to other fullbacks across the top five leagues, per 90 minutes he averaged the best non-penalty goals (0.37), non-penalty expected goals + expected assists (0.61), touches in the opposition penalty box (8.44) and progressive passes received (13.48).

Liverpool have been the club to be the most interested in the Dutchman as stated by ZiggoSport, tier three ranked source by Football Park, however new Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has said that Frimpong is his “priority” signing. This deal will only come about if the Catalonian side fail to sign Joao Cancelo on a permanent deal, following his loan this season.

Frimpong has a market value of €50 million but it is reported that he has a release clause of around €40 million.

Manchester United are still keen on signing him as well but that interest has not been as prominent as it was in last year’s January transfer window.

German giants Bayern Munich are also monitoring the situation as they look to try and win the Bundesliga again after missing out to Frimpong’s Bayern Leverkusen.

Dominic Solanke

Bournemouth talisman Dominic Solanke is a player whose numbers spiked up last season.

He played in all 38 games in The Cherries Premier League campaign as well as one FA Cup game and three League Cup matches.

In those games, he scored 21 goals and made four assists, coming joint fourth in the Premier League Golden Boot race, sharing the honours with Manchester City’s Phil Foden and Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins.

Tier three Football Park rated source for reliability, Matt Law has confirmed that Chelsea have put Solanke on their transfer target list with the information that Solanke has a £65 million release clause.

With Transfermarkt saying his value is €40 million, negotiations should be harder knowing that Bournemouth would be looking for a deal around his release clause figure.

The former Chelsea academy graduate would be rejoining the club after leaving to go to Liverpool way back in 2017.

Solanke is also a target for fellow London clubs Arsenal and Tottenham, but it is said that he is “happy” at Bournemouth.

Federico Chiesa

Euro 2020 winner, Federico Chiesa is one of the best value for money players in the world right now.

He has just come off a great season for Juventus achieving 10 goals and three assists from 37 games across all competitions and he is someone that is excellent in the press due to his rapid pace and he is very technically gifted with immense balance and agility.

Those skills earned him the UEFA Euro 2024 Player of the Match in Italy’s first game vs Albania.

Gazzetta dello Sport, Football Park tier two rated source, have broken the news that Tottenham have shown interest in the Italian.

Transfermarkt have his value down as a measly €35 million. For the quality of player he is, this fee is exceptionally low. He would more than gain a profit if he were to decide to move on after making a move this summer.

Liverpool and Manchester United are still in the race for his signature however, with Liverpool still following up on the interest they’ve had in him since 2023. He would be great for the Merseyside club with Salah getting older and a speculated move away to the Saudi Pro League.
