The Premier League is never short of drama, from ridiculous red cards to those late magic moments. The league has been filled with chaos at the end of games, and with the introduction of VAR, games just get later and later.
We will be taking a look at the top 10 latest winning goals in Premier League history, those edge-of-your-seat moments. So stick around; you won't want to miss this...
(Since 2006-07, when exact goal times became available)
Arguably the most impressive Brace on this list, Steven Bergwijn, who struggled for Spurs, wrote his name into the memory of fans forever. After arriving from PSV in 2020, Bergwijn netted just four times in his first 18 months, leaving fans unimpressed.
The following year was not much better for Spurs, as he scored just four times in 32 games, two coming in a memorable game away at the King Power. Leicester took the lead through Patson Daka before the inevitable Harry Kane goal. Soon-to-be Spurs player James Maddison gave the home side the lead with just 15 minutes remaining, and with the score still 2-1 in the 94th minute, he thought he'd scored the winner.
Up stepped Steven Bergwijn, who equalised for Spurs in the 95th minute and just 79 seconds later found himself bagging the winner before throwing himself into the crowd. The brace is one of the most dramatic in Premier League history and leaves the Dutchman sat at the start of our list. If this is how the list starts, just imagine how it ends.

The moment every Arsenal fan around the world celebrated like they'd won the league. A dramatic last-gasp winner at home to a Bournemouth side that finished 15th in the table, narrowly avoiding relegation.
Reiss Nelson played 11 Premier League games this year, netting three goals in his time, a tally that took him to four goals in his Prem career. The game started fast, with Bournemouth taking the lead through Billing after just a minute. The Gunners found themselves two goals down before Partey and White drew them level. Up stepped academy graduate Reiss Nelson, who swiped at it on the half volley, finding the far post from just inside the area. Unfortunately for the Gunners, they lost the league by five points that year to Pep's Manchester City.
Everyone knows Darwin Nunez struggled during his time at Liverpool, but it wasn't all doom and gloom, as he won the league in his final season. Nunez wasn't exactly leading the line that season, starting just eight games in the Premier League.
However, it would be unfair to say he didn't play his part during his years on Merseyside. In a season that was underwhelming in some senses, Liverpool finished 3rd. Nunez netted 18 times that season, and arguably this was the most important of them all. With just seconds left on the clock, he fired home a bullet header to take all three points back home for Klopp's side.

Following on from his former Liverpool teammate, Mac Allister secured his place on the list in a 1-0 win at home to Manchester United, back in his Brighton days. United were high-flying at this point, finishing third this season.
The result was huge for Brighton, who finished 6th come the end of the season and with just seven games remaining after this, three points were crucial. The game was an even affair, with both teams registering five shots on target before the ball struck Luke Shaw's arm. Mac Allister was given the chance to win it from the spot thanks to VAR, and he made no mistake, firing into the top left-hand corner in emphatic fashion. The result was one made a bit sweeter after the controversy in this exact fixture just three years before.
The only African international on the list, Alex Iwobi stepped up when Everton needed him most. The Toffees found themselves fighting for their lives, down to 10 men as they tried to survive. The pressure mounted with Newcastle smelling blood.
With 14 minutes of additional time due to a protestor tying himself to the goalpost by his neck, up stepped Alex Iwobi, firing Everton to all three points. He netted in the 99th minute of the game, the latest goal ever recorded at Goodison Park. With Everton surviving this season by the skin of his teeth, this goal was bigger than just three points.
2025 was filled with breakout stars; Rio Ngumoha took the Premier League by storm at the age of just 17, scoring this dramatic late winner away at St James's Park on his league debut!
Liverpool found themselves 2-0 up in this game, thanks to goals from Hugo Ekitike and Ryan Gravenberch. The hosts were down to 10 men thanks to a reckless challenge from Anthony Gordon. Three points looked wrapped up for the Reds, but an outstanding fightback from Eddie Howe's men left Liverpool stunned as the game reached its final seconds at a score of two goals each.
Arne Slot looked to one man. Up stepped Rio Ngumoha, who in the 10th minute of added time netted the winner for the Reds, becoming the club's youngest ever goalscorer. This moment was one every boy dreams of, and Ngumoha lived it, writing his name into the history books. One thing for sure is fans will remember that for a very long time.

2020 was a year to forget for most of us. However, with the return of Premier League football back on our screens, one guarantee was drama. In Manchester United's 3rd league match since returning, they found themselves travelling home with a point after a 2-2 draw away at Brighton. Or so they thought.
Brighton equalised in the fifth minute of added time to break Red Devil hearts. But just seconds before the final whistle blew, United had a penalty claim which was not originally given on-field by the referee. But after minutes of deliberation on VAR, the game in strange fashion resumed for Bruno Fernandes to take a penalty. Bear in mind this is all after the final whistle. Fernandes, of course, converted from the spot to give Utd all three points, but more significantly, it was a moment that left everyone stunned in a scenario that had never been seen before.
Still to this day this goal is remembered for its dramatic late fashion and a similar situation has not been seen since. Is this the most controversial late winner the Premier League has ever seen?
Spurs have had their fair share of late drama in recent years, from Lucas Moura's dramatic hat-trick in the Champions League semi-final to Bergwijn's late brace away at the King Power. But the latest of them all came in a tight affair with Sheffield Wednesday. Ange's side found themselves 1-0 down until the 98th minute of the game when Richarlison found the back of the net, levelling it up for Spurs.
An equaliser was not enough for this Spurs side, and less than two minutes later, the ball found its way to Kulusevski; after some nice play, he fired home a rocket just from inside the box, sending Spurs fans into delirium. This goal is the eighth latest in Premier League history and finds itself in the top three in our list.
Cole Palmer continued his fine form against Man United in 2024, netting his first professional career hat-trick. This affair is always a thriller, and this game was no different. Chelsea started quickly, with captain Conor Gallagher putting the Blues ahead and shortly after, Palmer picked up his first of the game from the penalty spot, extending Chelsea's lead before a quick United double saw Garnacho and Fernandes level up the score.
Ten Hag's side completed the turnaround in the 67th minute when Garnacho netted his second at the Bridge, a stadium he would go on to call home. Chelsea looked down and out, but 10 minutes into added time, Cole Palmer brought Chelsea level from the spot.
The drama didn't end there, Man City's boy went on to be Chelsea's man as Palmer's deflected effort found the back of the net in the 11th minute of added time. Stamford Bridge erupted as Pochettino's side picked up all three points in one of the most dramatic endings the Premier League has ever seen.
Throw back to when Cole Palmer scored this late winner against Manchester United, single-handedly destroying them by dropping a hat-trick on their head.

The top spot belongs to none other than Harvey Barnes. The Englishman picked up his seventh goal in all competitions this season in the most dramatic fashion possible. A game that had it all, a Premier League classic?
Leeds United travelled away to St James's Park, and took the lead just past the half-hour mark through Brendan Aaronson. Their lead didn't last long, with Barnes netting his first of the game just four minutes later. The game was then filled with goals, with Leeds leading the game with just added time remaining. The travelling fans were filled with hope; had they just picked up their second away win of the season?
The answer is no. Bruno Guimaraes stepped up from 12 yards to level, netting his second goal in as many games. If you'd have asked every Leeds fan, they'd have taken the draw at that moment in time, travelling over two hours on a cold Wednesday night. Harvey Barnes had other ideas. Barnes netted the winner in the 12th minute of added time! The third latest goal ever scored in Premier League history and the latest winner in league history. Barnes etched himself in the history books for a long time. Will we ever see this record broken?
