FIFA World Cup 2026 - A First Look at The CAF Kits

The FIFA World Cup is hurtling towards us, and the temperature just rose another few degrees. Across the continent, CAF nations have begun unveiling the colours they’ll wear on football’s biggest stage, setting social media alight and giving fans their first glimpse of summer glory.

This edition promises to be historic. Not only does the tournament expand to 48 teams, but a record nine African nations will take their place in the global spotlight, this will be the strongest CAF representation the World Cup has ever seen.

Now, it’s time to dive into the designs, the details, and the statements behind the shirts that will carry a continent’s hopes this summer.

South Africa - Bafana Bafana

South Africa re-partnered with Adidas ahead of the World Cup, qualifying for the first time since hosting the tournament back in 2010. Their kit boasts the traditional vibrant yellow and green we are accustomed to seeing, and pays tribute to the legendary 2010 World Cup.

Vuvuzelas, rehearsed celebrations, Siphiwe Tshabala, South Africa had it all back in 2010, so this is a fitting nod to the Bafana Bafana side of the past.

South Africa will take place in the opening fixture of the tournament against Mexico.

Ghana - The Black Stars

Over the years, we've seen some incredible Ghana sides, and on top of that, we've seen some beautiful kits. This time round, it appears to be more of the same for the Black Stars, who have collaborated with Puma to release a kit with stunning visual art.

Ghana are on a mission this summer to reclaim their pride. Failure to qualify for the AFCON dented the nation's hopes, but relentlessness in the qualifiers meant they booked their tickets to the tournament with ease. Ghana are in a tough group alongside England and Croatia. The stakes are high, but this is when champions rise.

Morocco - The Atlas Lions

Morocco made history in the last World Cup, becoming the first African side to reach the semi-finals. Recently, they hosted the 2026 AFCON, falling short to Senegal in one of the most captivating finals in the history of football. However, a recent triumph in the Arab Cup suggests they won't dwell on their loss and will be ready to compete once again at the highest level.

Their kit boasts simplistic beauty. Sponsored by Puma, the traditional red and green accompanied with the national crest in the centre of the shirt makes for striking visuals.

Egypt - The Pharoahs

A nation steeped in rich heritage and tradition, Egypt are one of the most influential and innovative countries in Africa. On the footballing side of things, it's fair to say they uphold the nation's values. Nontheless, Puma have done it again with Egypt, releasing an away kit that not only looks visually impeccable, but also nods to the cultural side of the country.

Mohamed Salah sets out for what looks to be his final World Cup, and after crashing out of the AFCON in the semi-finals, the Pharoahs will be hoping to make an impact on the biggest stage of them all.

Algeria - Les Fennecs

Gearing up for their fifth appearance in the FIFA World Cup, Adidas have collaborated with the Algerian football side to release a fantastic home strip.

Simple, clean, and tidy, the kit is a fine work of art. Boasting the colours of the Algerian flag, Riyad Mahrez and co will be proud to don the strip as they set out on their quest this summer.

Leaks of the away kit have also surfaced, and it is equally as impeccable as their main kit. The best ever finish for Algeria is the Round of 16 back in 2014, but maybe this time round we could see them go a little further.

Senegal - The Lions of Teranga

Senegal enter the World Cup as champions of the continent. Controversies aside, Senegal displayed true tenacity and devoted ambition to lift the AFCON trophy. This was the second AFCON title to be lifted by captain Sadio Mané who is now considered one of Africa's greats.

Working with Puma, the Lions of Teranga will be wearing a home kit with striking visuals throughout. Senegal are currently ranked 12th in the world, and their group suggests they could comfortably make the knockout rounds of the competition.

What About The Others?

As anticipation builds and fans across the globe refresh their feeds in search of the slightest update, and while ticketing chaos continues to swirl, CAF supporters will have to hold their nerve just a little longer before discovering the colours their nations will proudly wear this summer.

Although, when the curtain finally lifts, you won’t miss a thing. We’ll be across every release, every leak, and every detail, bringing you the story as it unfolds.
