Southampton have made it clear their business is far from finished in this transfer window, and there are reports emerging that Armenian attacker Eduard Spertsyan is the next player on manager Will Still’s radar.

The Saints have seen 11 players leave the club across the summer selling season, but have only added three players in return. Now, with the loss of Tyler Dibling following his £40 million move to Everton, Southampton are in dire need of attacking reinforcements.
However, with the loss of Dibling come significant funds to re-invest, and Southampton have already marked Russian-born Armenian international Spertsyan as a viable replacement.
A Krasnodar player for his entire career up to this point, Spertsyan has started to turn heads across Europe with his impressive output and versatility. In each of the last three seasons, the attacking midfielder has netted 11 or more goals, and also boasts 20 assists in that time. Moreover, he has made an outstanding start to the current campaign, notching five goals and six assists in just games so far.

As a result, Championship clubs, as well as top division teams abroad have started to register their interest in Spertsyan, and it is rumoured that Southampton are willing to pay in excess of £10 million to acquire his services.
With attacking options needed in the final days of the transfer window, this seems like a no brainer for Will Still - Spertsyan’s quality is clear to see, and it would be foolish to miss out on a player in the form of his life.
