Why Michy Batshuayi Will Need Eyes in the Back of His Head Next Season?

A move that will send shockwaves through the Super Lig. As reported by Fabrizio Romano, who Football Park ranks as tier 1 for reliability, Michy Batshuayi has done the unthinkable.

The Belgian international has joined Galatasaray from rivals Fenerbahce.

Batshuayi impressed for Fenerbahce, scoring 44 goals in 75 appearances.

The rivalry between these two clubs is considered to be one of the biggest in the world. The Turkish fans are some of the most passionate and fiery supporters, so Batshuayi may find he has a target on his back when these sides next meet.

But why is this move such a risky one?

The Istanbul Derby has seen its fair share of crazy incidents over the years.

In 1995-1996, the then manager of Galatasaray, Graeme Souness ran onto the pitch after beating Fenerbahce 2-1 in the cup final thanks to an extra-time goal scored by Dean Saunders and planted a Galatasaray flag in the middle of the pitch.

The Scottsmans actions are still talked about to this day, given the fact that the game was played at Fenerbaches home ground. These actions had consequences as Souness received a punch in the head as he tried to make his way down the tunnel to escape the chaos he helped cause.

Batshuayi could cause similar scenes if he is to score against his former club next season.

It’s not the first time a player has moved between the sides.

One of the most notable names is Colin Kazim-Richards, who was a recent guest on Football Park. The Turkish international made the same move in 2011 after being released by Fenerbahçe.

Batshuayi will certainly have a target on his back after this incredibly controversial move.
