Why Premier League clubs should keen an eye on Julian Ryerson
As reported on SkySportDE by Florian Plettenberg, who Football Park ranks as tier 1 for reliability, the Borussia Dortmund defender has received inquiries over his availability this summer. The Norwegian defender played a starring role for the German side in last season's Champions League, helping them reach the final, where they lost out to Real Madrid. Here we look at some of the options Ryerson may have this summer, and why it would be a big loss to Dortmund if the defender decides to leave

What are Julian Ryerson’s strengths?
In today's game, it is a manager's dream when players can play multiple positions, and that's exactly what teams can expect if they purchase Ryerson. The fullback is just as comfortable playing right or left back. He has even filled on the right of midfield when needed. The Norwegian is currently one of the lowest earners in the Dortmund first team. He only made 21 appearances in the Bundesliga, but it was his performances in the Champions League, particularly in the final, where he was most impressive. With a market value of €20 million, the 26-year-old would be a great value signing.
Which clubs have been linked with Julian Ryerson?
It would be seen as a big blow to Dortmund if Ryerson leaves this summer, having lost both Marius Wolf and Mateu Morey, with the German side deciding not to renew their contracts. This leaves the Norwegian as their only recognized right back. Aston Villa has been linked with the defender, with Villa seeing him as a replacement if Matty Cash leaves the club. The Athletic reported that AC Milan contacted the Midlands club about signing the Polish international, but AC Milan considered the £30 million asking price too high.
Bayern Munich could be an option for Ryerson if Joshua Kimmich leaves the German giants this summer. It would not be the first time Bayern signed stars from their rivals, with big names like Robert Lewandowski and Mario Gotze previously swapping the yellow of Dortmund for the Red of Munich.

There has been long-standing interest from Milan in Cash, with Villa looking for £30million (€35.6m; $38.3m) for the right-back.
That asking price, though, is likely to be a stumbling block… pic.twitter.com/4n6rW83O7y
This all being said, there is nothing to suggest that Borussia is interested in letting Julian Ryerson leave this summer but it is one to keep an eye on.
