Wrexham Hasn't Given Up On Signing Gareth Bale

According to Andrew Mackie and Roshane Thomas, both ranked as Tier 2 reliability journalists by FootballPark.com, the co-owner of Wrexham Rob McElhenney is still on the hunt to pull Gareth Bale out of retirement, in order to play for Wrexham.

“Gareth Bale is still technically available!” said McElhenney. “I made the plea last year and I’m just going to tell Gareth that the other is still on the table,”

Last year, McElhenney joked with Bale on X about the chances of him joining the now League One Wrexham for “one last magical season”.

Now though, with an ambition of taking Wrexham right to the very top of English football, McElhenney has flirted with Bale once more. Even offering the chance to keep up his favourite hobby.

“We’ll let him play golf whenever he wants. Just as long as he comes to training and we’ll figure out how to get him in the team.”

Bale retired from professional football whilst playing for Log Angeles FC in January of 2023. Meaning, signing for Wrexham would pull him back into the beautiful game for the first time in a year-and-a-half.

However, Bale is arguably Wales’ greatest ever player, and much like Wrexham’s signing of Ben Foster, would rock the media world once more.

Bale is Wales’ all-time top-scorer, with 41 conversions. He has five UEFA Champions League titles to his name, and three Spanish La Liga’s.
