Football Park's Best Bets | Saturday EFL ACCA

The international break doesn't half suck the life out of football, does it? Ah well, at least it allows us to swing more attention over to the game's true heart - the EFL and Non-League.

The lesser-followed, lesser-tipped heart of English football provides just as much entertainment in a rougher way than our overpaid friends in football's top divisions. And, of course, it provides plenty of value on our lovely betslips.

We're on this one with BOYLE Sports, and you can claim a tasty signup offer of £30 for your first £10 stake, credited instantly upon the settlement of your bet. So why not join up?

Exeter To Continue Form With Security

First up, Exeter have got outrageous odds for a full-on win in this one at 4.75, meaning a tenner alone on them to take the points would return £47.50. We think they're pretty under-priced for that line, but we fancy the extra security as part of an ACCA.

Away from home over the whole season, Exeter have been nothing special with 2 wins and 5 losses all through the campaign. But, in their last 8 matches in general, Gary Caldwell's side have only tasted defeat on one occasion whilst securing an impressive 5 wins and 2 draws alongside it. They make their way over to a Leyton Orient side who reside alongside them in mid-table off the back of a 4-1 thumping away at Wycombe.

Leyton Orient are no mugs, but they hold an identical league results record to their visitors on Saturday afternoon and we would not have them down as the mega-favourites the bookies deem them to be. We're opting for the Double Chance line between an Exeter win or a score draw.

Wilshere's Rise To Continue Flow

As a Nottingham Forest fan, I spent way too long being irritated by Luton Town and their fans over the course of their Premier League campaign in the 23/24 season. That being said, their descent down into League One has been almost as shocking as their rise to the top flight some years back.

After the departure of Rob Edwards, Matt Bloomfield tried and failed to keep The Hatters in the Championship, and was dismissed from his position in charge in October after a dear start to life in League One. In came a big name in former Luton Town academy player Jack Wilshere, taking the reins of his first senior role in football.

After a defeat against Mansfield full of silver linings, Wilshere has guided Luton to a 4-game winning streak that featured two games in League one and one apiece in the EFL Trophy and the FA Cup. Against Rotherham on Saturday afternoon, they should be able to keep the pace going after a resounding 3-0 win away at Stockport County last time out.

Beating The Millers won't be an easy task - they've not tasted defeat in their last 6 League One outings - but Luton Town have the quality and home advantage to stamp another encouraging result on the early days of Wilshere's tenure thus far.

Barrow And Goodbye

Could we just take our line of thinking for the Exeter game and apply it here? Yeah, probably, but we won't.

It's no secret that Bromley had a smashing start to their League Two season in the 25/26 campaign, but they have lost that cutting edge in recent weeks with a run of 4 losses from their last 7 games albeit with a win apiece in the remaining 3.

Barrow, though deemed as heavy underdogs by the bookies, have been building some steam as a counter-point. By contrast, they had a fairly dismal start to their respective season, but have recovered well and have now not tasted a league defeat since the 20th of September.

Bromley will be a stern task, no doubt, but the odds are too tempting for us not to bet in Barrow's favour here. Add in the extra security of a Double Chance line, and this one could be a fine selection.

Notts To Keep The Charge On

Eyebrows were lifted somewhat upon the arrival of Martin Paterson this summer in replacement of Stuart Maynard, after the former's fairly un-impressive stint down the road at Burton Albion.

However, any worries have since been lifted as Paterson's attacking brand of football has began to rere it's head at Meadow Lane. They sit 3rd in League Two now, with real hope of promotion to the 3rd tier now starting to bristle on the black-and-white side of the River Trent.

They square off on Saturday with a Harrogate side that are licking their wounds down in 21st, but certainly have the power to get a goal against their hosts in Nottingham. They won their last game in general, a 3-1 win against Newcastle United's kids, but have lost 5 on the trot in League Two to make their position rather precarious. Despite the losing run, they have still found the net in 3 of those 5 losing occasions.

They can punch above their weight rather well - they bagged two goals against League One side Mansfield Town in their FA Cup exit, as well as finding the net in a loss to 8th-placed Crewe in League Two. And Notts are no strangers to conceding the odd surprise, just like their last game wherein relegation candidates Cheltenham managed to get one against them in The Magpies' 2-1 win.

We think the team that lent Juventus it's colours are going to ring out as winners at Meadow Lane tomorrow afternoon, but we expect their visitors to at least hold a reply on the scoreline.
